Department Of & English Litrature & Linguistics

In the English Department we believe in enriching our students' lives and shaping their understanding of the challenging, diverse and ever-changing world they live in. Not only does our curriculum allow students insights into other cultures, but they are given the opportunity for creativity, self-expression and personal development. We encourage our students to be inquisitive and explore how the written word can enable them to communicate effectively and appropriately in a range of environments and discourses. Through the study of English we aim to create global citizens who are able to communicate with one another empathetically. Through engagement with a breadth of texts, both classic and contemporary, we aim to instill a love of literature which will enable students to become lifelong readers and critical thinkers. The Department of English Literature and Linguistics was established in 2017. Mrs. Sadia Bibi, Assistant Professor of English, was the Head of Department from Fall 2017 to Spring 2021 till the completion of 1st Batch. Currently, Mrs. Samreen Mir, Assistant Professor of English, is the Head of Department. We are offering BS four years program. There are 4 permanent teaching staff Mrs. Samreen Mir, Assistant Professor: Mrs. Sadia Bibi, Assistant Professor: Mrs. Musarrat Bilawar Assistant Professor, Mrs. Shazia Bibi, Lecturer and 3 hired faculty: Mrs. Tehseen Ali, Miss Asawera and Miss Anam Khan.. Currently, we have total 156 students enrolled in the four batches of the Department. 2 batches have been completed and are serving in different institutions.
